Sakunda Holdings unveil new kits for Dynamos, Highlanders

Story by Lawrence Trusida, Sports Editor

THE country’s most successful football clubs Dynamos and Highlanders have been challenged to match the standards of the new kits they received from their principal sponsor Sakunda Holdings this Thursday.

The players paraded their three matchday kits, training kits, and travelling gear made by one of the World’s best manufacturers.

According to the sponsors, the Adidas kit paraded is the same won by other teams sponsored by the German manufacturer.

The sponsors challenged the two clubs to match the standards of the kit they will be donning.

Sakunda Holdings representative, Maurice Makoni said,” I think you can all see that the kits are World-class and Dynamos and Highlanders will be looking presentable every time they travel, train, or play. We are happy with the journey we have walked and that has prompted us to do more. We have gone for a kit that is 300% better than what we had before and now, it’s not only about looking good, but we should continue to be professional, and I challenge you to win and show off in your beautiful kits.”

Known for their glamour back in the day, Harare giants Dynamos, described the kit as glamorous.

“This is the best we have looked, and this kit is just ‘glam’ and we have been spurred on to go and do better and do more. With this look, we will do well in the league and go and challenge locally, it’s high time we reclaim our position in the land,” said Dynamos chairperson, Moses Maunganidze.

Log leaders Highlanders, believe they have been given wings to stay on top.

“Thank you so much Sakunda, you have oiled us to make sure we stay on top of the log and go and parade the kits in the continent. Your sponsorship has made sure that we stay afloat as a club, and we are on top of the log, and we want to stay there,” said Highlanders’ chairperson, Colonel (Rtd) Kenneth Mhlope

The event was attended by the country’s top football stakeholders, selected media as well as representatives from Highlanders’ co-sponsors Better Brands.

Sakunda Holdings has been the two clubs’ principal sponsor for the past three years.

Even at the end of the formal engagement, the oil giant continues to help the country’s biggest football institutions.
