SADC Ministers to discuss key regional development plans at mid-term meetings in Harare

THE stage is now set for the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Council of Ministers to be held at the New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden starting this Wednesday.

Foreign Affairs Ministers from the SADC will converge at the New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden for a council of ministers meeting from this Wednesday until March 14.

Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Professor Amon Murwira, will chair the meeting, which is expected to be attended by ministers or their representatives from the 16 SADC member states.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the council will review the status of the implementation of previous council and summit decisions.

The meeting was preceded by the SADC Standing Committee of Senior Officials, the Finance Committee meeting and meeting of senior officials and Key Experts on the implementation of the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) 2020-2030, that were held at the New Parliament Building from March 4 to March 7.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe will also host the SADC- European Union Ministerial partnership dialogue at the New Parliament Building on March 15.

The partnership dialogue that will be co-chaired by Professor Amon Murwira and Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Radoslaw Sikorsi, seeks to promote cooperation in peace and security trade and policies aimed at sustainable economic growth.
