MASHONALAND Central Province marked the belated International Rural Women’s Day celebrations in style this Friday, with women from various districts displaying their wares and talents.
“It’s time every rural woman is empowered to contribute effectively to the development of the nation.”
This was the rallying point for women who took part in the belated International Rural Women’s Day celebrations held at Ruyamuro Business Centre in Guruve, Mashonaland Central Province this Friday.
Several projects are being undertaken by women in the province in line with the ‘Nyika Inovakwa nevene vayo/ Ilizwe Lakhiwa labanikazi balo’ mantra.
Mashonaland Central Minister for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Christopher Magomo applauded the sterling role of women in community development as well as ensuring food security at the household level.
The commemorations ran under the theme; “Rural Women Cultivating Good Food for All.”
