THE South African senior cricket side, the Proteas, have arrived in the country for a test series set to run from June 28 to July 10.
Fresh from becoming World Test Champions, the Proteas make an emotional return to Bulawayo for a date with the Chevrons after a decade-long sabbatical.
The 28 man squad arrived in the country on Tuesday afternoon.
Proteas wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne is already warming up for the test series.
“I am quite excited, obviously. We have just finished a World Championship final and had a break. This test series will be a good series for all of us,” Proteas wicket keeper, Kyle Verreynne said.
The unavailability of Proteas captain Temba Bavuma has, however, dampened the euphoria ahead of the test series.
Meanwhile, the Chevrons are already in Bulawayo, having set up camp for the showdown.
