President officiates at the National Competitiveness Summit

President Emmerson Mnangagwa arrived at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo for the inaugural Competitiveness Summit, which began yesterday.

The summit brings together policymakers, including cabinet ministers, academic professionals, and representatives from both the private and public sectors.

This event aims to facilitate dialogue on enhancing competitiveness in the business sector and will allow delegates to explore potential ways to improve business operations across the country.

Addressing while officiating the summit, the President said it is a notable milestone of the Second Republic in the quest to reinforce Zimbabwe’s global competitiveness.

The Head of State said the summit enables delegates the opportunity to deliberate on policy and topical issues necessary for enhancing competitiveness in the business environment.

President Mnangagwa further said his government established the NCC, with a mandate to facilitate a competitive environment for Zimbabwean business.

He further highlighted that the Second Republic is alive to issues affecting business and is scaling up measures that create a supportive business operating environment that encourages innovation and investment.

The summit is being attended by participants drawn from private and public business entities, cabinet ministers as well as academics.
