President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa on Thursday hosted a State banquet at State House in honour of visiting Equatorial Guinea President, His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, as Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea move to deepen bilateral cooperation.

The banquet brought together senior government officials and dignitaries from both countries, with First Lady Dr Auxilia Mnangagwa and Equatorial Guinea’s First Lady, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, also in attendance.

President Mbasogo is in Zimbabwe on a two-day State Visit aimed at strengthening relations between the two nations and expanding areas of cooperation.

The visit is expected to culminate in high-level bilateral discussions on Friday, where the two leaders will explore opportunities to enhance collaboration in key sectors under the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation framework.

Several agreements are expected to be signed during the visit as Harare and Malabo seek to consolidate diplomatic, economic and development partnerships.

The State Visit reflects the growing ties between Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea as the two countries pursue closer cooperation for mutual benefit and shared development goals.
