President Mnangagwa Urges Action on Climate Vulnerability at COP28 Meeting

Story by Josephine Mugiyo in Dubai

PRESIDFENT Emmerson Mnangagwa says landlocked developing countries must take concrete actions to redress desertification and land degradation and mitigate the negative impact of global warming on agriculture sectors.

He said this as he addressed the COP28 high-level meeting of landlocked developing countries on the unique climate vulnerability of LLDCS through partnership, which was held this Saturday morning in Dubai.

He stressed the need to unlock available and affordable financial support and technical capacities to strengthen adaptation and mitigation efforts.

President Mnangagwa, who joined other world leaders for the United Nations climate summit (COP 28), is expected to attend several events centered on addressing the effects of climate change.
