SADC chairperson President Emmerson Mnangagwa is now at the new parliament building in Mount Hampden where he will chair an Extra-ordinary Summitt convened to discuss the volatile situation in the eastern parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC).
The DRC continues to be embroiled in turmoil over power and resources disputes.
The latest killings of United Nations and SADC peacekeepers have worsened the situation in the country, drawing the attention of fellow SADC countries.
The Extra-ordinary summit is expected to discuss the way forward in fostering peace in DRC.
Several SADC heads of state and government are attending the meeting.
