President Mnangagwa to officially open SADC Parliamentary Forum in Vic Falls

VICTORIA FALLS – PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to officially open the 57th Assembly of the Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC PF) in Victoria Falls this Monday.

President Mnangagwa’s keynote address is expected to reaffirm Zimbabwe’s commitment to digital transformation as a catalyst for regional integration and development.

The address will also set the tone for the discussions and is expected to provide a strategic roadmap for the SADC region’s development agenda in the digital era.

The high-level gathering brings together over 300 delegates, including Speakers and Members of Parliament from across the SADC region, along with representatives from development partners.

The Assembly aims to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance parliamentary efficiency, transparency and public engagement.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) experts are among the delegates, contributing technical insight into the implementation of AI in legislative functions.

Delegates will use the platform to develop long-term strategies for regional collaboration and innovation, particularly in the area of digital governance.

This year’s Assembly is being held under the theme: “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Effective and Efficient Parliamentary Processes in the SADC Region: Experiences, Challenges and Opportunities.”
