SADC chairperson, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has expressed gratitude to SADC member states and friendly nations who continue to stand with Zimbabwe in calling for the removal of illegal sanctions imposed on the country.
He said the continued imposition of the illegal embargo impacts negatively on the country’s socio-economic growth, thereby stunting Zimbabwe’s achievement of Vision 2030 and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
President Mnangagwa applauded the resilience and unity of the Zimbabwean people in busting the sanctions towards building the economy and society.
The Head of State lauded various initiatives in place that include research and development, innovation, and climate-proof agriculture which have played a key role in the country’s growth.
He also stated that his Government will continue to empower youths in playing their part in pushing for sustainable development of the country.
As chairperson of the regional bloc, President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe will do its part to spur regional integration for economic growth.
