THE President and First Secretary of the ruling ZANU PF party, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa, has reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption, asserting that integrity, discipline, and unity must be central to ZANU PF’s identity.

Addressing the 387th session of the Politburo meeting at the party headquarters in Harare this Wednesday, President Mnangagwa said clean governance must always be identified with the Party.

“Corruption of any kind and excesses that alienate us from the people can never be condoned. Integrity, discipline, and unity, concern for the people, and clean governance must be synonymous with ZANU PF. As provided for in our party’s constitution, we have a duty to boldly and decisively deal with those who put the name of the Party into disrepute,” President Mnangagwa affirmed, signalling a no-tolerance approach to malfeasance.

President Mnangagwa highlighted the need for all Party cadres and structures to prioritise winning the hearts and minds of the populace, a critical mandate that he insists should guide their actions moving forward.

The President also emphasised the need for Party members to prioritise the distribution of resources towards fighting poverty.

“Central to all activity, must be ensuring that resources are deployed to uplift more of our people out of poverty, into a higher quality of life. The protection of our hard-worn Independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity demands utmost discipline from all those who are serving in public offices.”
