PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has sent his message of condolences to the people of Kenya following the death of former Prime Minister of Kenya, Raila Odinga on Wednesday.
In a statement, President Mnangagwa said the former Prime Minister will be remembered for his distinguished service to the development of Kenya and commitment to regional and continental development.
Meanwhile, thousands of mourners this Friday gathered at a National Stadium in Nairobi, for the state funeral of the former Prime Minister.
Many carried national flags, portraits of the late leader, and wore t-shirts printed with his image to pay their final respects.
Earlier, Odinga’s body was taken to parliament, where legislators and selected dignitaries had an opportunity to bid farewell.
A seven-day period of mourning has been declared in Kenya.
