PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has been applauded for his visionary leadership that has seen him steering the country’s economic growth in the face of economic sanctions.
Early this month, President Emmerson Mnangagwa delivered the State of Nation Address and officially opened the Second Session of the 10th Parliament at the New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden.
In his keynote address, the Head of State pledged government’s commitment towards the attainment of an upper-middle-income society by 2030, something that has been welcomed by legislators during this Tuesday’s debate in the National Assembly.
Parliamentarians also applauded developmental strides by the government, despite the existence of illegal economic sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the West.
“I would like to commend President Emmerson Mnangagwa for steering development despite the country being under sanctions. I also want to commend his approach, he is allocating money for drilling boreholes and buying rigs to expedite the drilling of boreholes. The Zimbabwe is open for business mantra is bearing fruit and we are seeing a lot of developments. This shows that our nation is going somewhere under his leadership. He is attracting investments in our country and it is important to speak the same language,” said Nyanga South legislator, Honourable Supa Mandiwanzira.
Magunje legislator Honourable Super Monga Madiro added, “We are happy that our President is doing a lot of developments in the face of sanctions. We are also scooping dams in our areas and so far, we have completed Kebvunde Dam, soon, we will be going to Maumbe.”
The Second Republic has been making significant strides in transforming the country through the implementation of flagship projects including the construction of the New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden, as well as the upgrading and expansion of Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.
