SADC chairperson President Emmerson Mnangagwa says time for half measures in dealing with the climate change crisis is over, highlighting that all nations have a duty to fully implement agreements on combating climate change.
As he addressed world leaders and delegates attending COP 29, President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe and the entire Southern African region bear the scars of climate change and are currently experiencing one of the most devastating El-Nino-induced drought.
The head of state said the transition to renewable energy is non-negotiable, while a just transition, combined with robust financial and technological support for developing countries is critically important to drive the climate action agenda.
