PAP Fourth Ordinary Session kicks off

THE 4th Ordinary Session of the 6th Pan-African Parliament (PAP) has kicked off in Midrand, South Africa, with the official opening ceremony laying the agenda for the next two weeks.

Proceedings led by PAP President Chief Fortune Charumbira started with the swearing-in of newly designated Members of Parliament from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea, among other countries.

There was also an official announcement of the vacancy of the first vice president in the PAP Bureau.

The ordinary session will be officially opened by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, His Excellency Igor Sergeyenko.

Various issues, including the PAP Strategic Plan, the African Union Integration Agenda, as well as peace and security on the continent, will be discussed.
