Nigerian gospel star Ada Ehi to perform in the country early next month

Story by Colette Musanyera

Local gospel music heavyweights, in fact, Zimbabwe’s creme de la creme, are set to converge at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), for the much-anticipated Nigerian gospel star, Ada Ehi’s show, which is slated for the 6th of May.

Gateway Stream Music Manager Elton Kuriman says the event is an opportunity for local artistes to rub shoulders with the internationally acclaimed artiste.

“It creates opportunities for collaborations and will also facilitate growth for the local industry by allowing local musicians to tap into Ada’s experience,” he said.

Among the performers are Ellard and Sharon Cherayi who are ecstatic about sharing the stage with the African gospel powerhouse.

“It’s so exciting to be part of the line-up. It’s a dream come true for me since I have always admired Ada. It’s a platform for me to learn and it will also allow me to get exposed to Ada’s fans worldwide,” said Ellard.

Meanwhile, his wife Sharon could not hide her excitement noting, “It means a lot to me as an upcoming gospel musician. This is a platform for me to rub shoulders with great artistes and learn from them.”

Other gospel musicians billed to perform at the concert are Minister Michael Mahendere, Nyasha Mutonhori, Everton Mlalazi and Janet Manyowa.

Ada Ehi, who is famed for songs like “Congratulations,” “Open Doors” and “I Testify,” will be performing in the country for the second time after her performance in 2017 at the National Sports Stadium as part of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s entourage for the Global Worship and Communion Service.
