ZIMBABWE’S newly appointed ambassadors to South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Cuba, and the United States of America have paid a courtesy call on Vice President General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Chiwenga as they prepare to assume their diplomatic assignments abroad.
Earlier on Monday, the envoys met President Emmerson Mnangagwa, receiving a briefing aimed at enhancing political and trade engagements ahead of their deployment to their respective foreign missions.
Under the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), the thematic area of Image Building, International Relations, and Trade forms one of the ten identified national priority areas that cut across all sectors of the economy. The envoys have been tasked with achieving targets set within this strategic pillar.
Ambassador-designate David Hamadziripi will represent Zimbabwe in the United States of America, while Ambassador-designate Lovemore Mazemo has been assigned to South Africa.
The country will also be represented in the United Arab Emirates by Ambassador-designate Isaac Moyo.
