New era dawns for PSL as Rodwell Thabe takes helm

Story by Anashe Murombedzi

THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has appointed Rodwell Thabe as the substantive Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2025.

Thabe, a seasoned administrator, has been part of the PSL family since 2012 and took over the reins on an interim basis in February 2025, following Kenneth Ndebele’s resignation.

Thabe’s elevation to the top job comes after a successful stint as interim CEO, during which he ensured the smooth running of the league.

His appointment is seen as a vote of confidence in his abilities and a testament to his dedication to Zimbabwean football.

As CEO, Thabe’s primary focus will be on driving the growth and development of the league, while maintaining the high standards of competition and sportsmanship.

Thabe succeeds Kenneth Ndebele, who resigned in December 2024 and has since been elected as the ZIFA Vice President.
