ZIMBABWE’S internationally acclaimed musical group, Mokoomba, will perform at the official Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 Fan Zone in Agadir, Morocco, this Saturday, combining their role as cultural ambassadors with passionate support for the national football team, the Warriors.
Invited by Morocco’s Ministry of Culture in partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the group aims to entertain fans from across the continent while showcasing Zimbabwe’s rich musical heritage on a global stage.
The celebrated musical ensemble announced their departure on social media, posting a group picture from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
While they are set to entertain football fans from across the continent with their unique sound, the group left no doubt about their primary mission in Agadir to rally behind the national team.
In their statement, Mokoomba declared they will be supporting the Warriors as they go into battle at AFCON 2025, merging their role as cultural performers with that of passionate national supporters.
This dual representation athletic and artistic at a premier continental event highlights Zimbabwe’s diverse talents on the international stage.
Mokoomba, with its substantial fan base in Europe and the United States, will use the global platform to showcase Zimbabwe’s rich musical heritage.
The participation of Mokoomba at AFCON 2025 exemplifies the Second Republic’s success in promoting Zimbabwe’s creative arts globally, fostering sports and cultural diplomacy, and uniting the nation behind the Warriors’ campaign under the spirit of national pride.
