Midlands Agriculture Show kicks off

Story by Tafara Chikumira

THE Midlands Agriculture Show kicked off this Thursday with organisers confident of hosting a memorable event. The exhibitors expressed hope that the platform will propel the growth of their businesses.

The four-day business exhibition opened with a business day where 123 exhibitors have since taken space at the show grounds.

Organisers of the event are confident the show will leave a mark across the province with new exhibitors accounting for 20 per cent of the total exhibitors at this year’s business extravaganza.

“We are excited that the Midlands and the country at large have embraced the idea of coming to exhibit at this show. We have exhibitors coming from as far as Harare who have shown interest in being part of this business showcase. We also have schools, colleges and universities that have shown interest in being part of this showcase. On the entertainment side we have introduced the Burnouts for the first time,” said Midlands Show Society chairperson, Mr Augustine Mupakurirwa.

Exhibitors are confident the trade showcase will provide them with a platform to form meaningful synergies and grow their business network.
“I am very excited to be part of this exciting show. We are here to help the country improve the breed of goats in the country and the national herd as well. We are looking forward to having educative programmes with farmers so that they understand the tenants of goat breeding,” said one of the exhibitors.

Another added, “This gives us a great platform to network. Such exhibitions help us learn new skills of doing business in line with changing trends. We also get the opportunity to make meaningful joint ventures and grow in the process.”

“There are huge opportunities to be explored at this exhibition. I am happy we are part of this show. We are here to learn and share some valuable experiences in the process,” another exhibitor noted.

The show which is set to be officially opened this Saturday, will witness dancehall musician Killer T who is making waves with his ‘Kana Ndanyura’ hit song headlining the entertainment front.
