Maskiri makes sensational comeback

Popular hip hop musician, Alishas weMaskiri is back in the game, with his hit songs released last month gaining traction on social media platforms.

Known for his slick bars, witty lyrics, and heavy punch lines, Alishas weMaskiri has just confirmed that he has nine lives like a cat.

He is back with two hit songs: “Harare Drive” and “Huku” released in December and garnering online attention.

“Harare Drive” has 79 000 views on YouTube while “Huku” has 71 000 views as of this Thursday.

“I am back in the game, I am still here to do what I do! When I dropped Harare Drive in November, people didn’t expect it and I want to show them I still got it. I made sure to keep up with the current beats but maintain that Maskiri you know, from punch lines to metaphors and wordplay. Especially after reading the comments on the video, I knew I’d get the positive reactions I got from people. I am Maskiriri the skilled one, I am hip hop,” said Maskiri.

The Chitungwiza-based rapper is also excited about the growth of Zim hip hop.

He said, “These days there is Volts JT, Bagga, TGonzi, Holy Ten and I enjoy their skills because it is hip hop. As long as it’s Hip Hop, it doesn’t matter if I have beef with someone or not, I love it because it’s hip hop. To my fans, I won’t disappoint you, I’m here to stay, look out for more hits during the year.”

With his new songs pushing numbers on social media, Zim hip hop fans can look forward to Maskiri making his way back on the urban charts.
