ZANU PF members in Mashonaland West have been urged to actively participate in the upcoming Cell Day programme on June 27, with party leaders saying preparations are now at an advanced stage.
The call was made during an inter-district meeting held in Banket this Saturday, where party structures reviewed progress on mobilisation efforts and strategies aimed at strengthening grassroots participation ahead of the Cell Day.
Addressing party members, ZANU PF Mashonaland West Provincial Chairperson, Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka, said Cell Day is a key party programme that strengthens structures at grassroots level and provides an opportunity for members to engage communities on development issues and the party’s vision.
“Preparations for Cell Day are progressing well across all districts in the province. We are encouraging every member to actively participate and ensure that our cells remain vibrant and functional. Strong party structures at the cell level are the foundation of a strong party and are key in mobilizing communities behind government development programmes.”
Central Committee Member, Cde Marian Chombo, said Cell Day presents an opportunity for members to reconnect with communities and consolidate gains achieved through various government-led development initiatives.
“The success of our party depends on active participation by members at the grassroots level. Cell Day allows us to engage directly with the people, listen to their concerns and share information on ongoing development programmes. We urge all members to take part and continue promoting unity, peace and development in their respective communities.”
The meeting also updated members on preparations for the 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference, which will be held in Mashonaland West Province from October 12 to October 17 at the Chinhoyi University of Technology.
