Love prevails in Zimbabwe as citizens opt for stability over unrest

ZIMBABWEANS have disregarded unwarranted social media calls for illegal demonstrations and unrest, as they went about their usual business and normal peaceful daily lives across the country.

While regime change seekers sought to cause chaos and confusion, love blossomed in the city of Bulawayo as couples took the moment to capture memories of their beginning at Centenary Park after exchanging vows.

“This is an important occasion for us, as it marks the beginning of our lifetime journey,” said the groom, Sibonamgane Nunu.

“This is a special day. I am finally marrying my sweetheart,” bride Gracious Moyo noted.

As love blossomed in the park, the city centre was also a hive of activity, with Zimbabweans, including political analysts, saying no nation can be built through protests.

“Clearly, the call for a stay-away, or whatever it was, has failed. As you can see, people are going about their business. This confirms that people love peace. We need to build on the progress we have made so far and not destroy it,” Mr Methuseli Moyo said.

“The President is always preaching peace and discipline. We are following his words. We cannot build anything through violence. The fact that the calls for protests were ignored underscores that Zimbabweans are peace-loving people. This shows that Zimbabweans love peace, and their main concern is to build the nation,” a resident added.

Zimbabweans chose peace and love over unrest, celebrating unity and progress while rejecting calls for illegal demonstrations.
