LOCAL short film “Peggy” is garnering rave reviews from online audiences, as production of Zimbabwean stories continues to meet international standards.

The urban legend of a ghost called Peggy who lures men soliciting for illicit affairs, comes to life through this horror genre.

The short film directed by award winning filmmaker Jonathan Samukange left audiences in suspense and captivated by his choice of cinematography.

“Wow I did not see the ending coming, but I thoroughly enjoyed the movie from start to finish. The suspense was expertly built and the plot twist’s kept me at the edge of my seat,” @inkadimage_official said.

“Our own Zimbabwean talent. The cinematography did their job well. The sound designers and make-up artist played a really crucial role in the production. Well done,” @tadiwajohnera said.

Other viewers, however, have lamented the film’s short format.

“Do not tell me I am the only one who is thinking that this should be made into a full movie?” @sharon_panashe said.

“This needs to be a full movie or a series, great work,” @tembarwambiwa said.

“I wish it was longer. The production and cast is top notch,” @thamncube4390 said.

“This film is fire, only problem is its too short,” @peshy1 said.

With continued emergence of talent in the country, the film industry is poised for growth as it strives to continue telling authentic Zimbabwean stories.
