GOVERNMENT says action being taken against land barons and illegal settlers is above board, adding that it will not be deterred by attempts by unruly elements to tarnish its image by circulating false information about the exercise.
The government says it remains committed to ensuring that citizens are settled in an orderly manner on allocated land with those involved in illegal parcelling out of land warned against doing so as they face legal action.
Since ‘Operation No to Land Barons and Illegal Occupation’ was launched in January this year, more than 3700 suspects have been arrested with 985 convictions, while some of the cases are still pending before the courts.
