Lady Sables fall to Uganda in heavy defeat

Story by Raynald Ngwarati

THE Zimbabwe Women’s National Rugby Team, the Lady Sables, endured a difficult outing this Saturday, succumbing to a 63–7 defeat against Uganda in a Rugby Africa Women’s Cup qualifier.

Uganda who had previously outshined Tunisia and the hosts Cote D’Ivoire, implemented a successful game plan crippling the Lady Sables’ aggressive attack line to guard the score line.

The Lady Sables could not keep their guard against the Lady Cranes who were determined to seal qualification to the elite 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup.

Lady Sables failed to crawl back into the match as their opponents took a leap to victory.

With the victory, Uganda now joins South Africa, Kenya, and Madagascar in the premier division of the Rugby Africa Women’s competition.
