HIGHLANDERS Football Club have received a significant boost ahead of the 2026 Premier Soccer League season after benefactor Wicknell Chivayo donated a luxury 75-seater team bus and availed US$300 000 to support player recruitment, as the Bulawayo giants prepare for their centenary campaign.

The modern bus, fitted with contemporary amenities, will serve the Bosso first team, replacing a vehicle that has been in use since 2013. The upgrade is expected to improve travel conditions and logistics for the squad during the demanding league programme.

The support comes at a symbolic moment in the club’s history, with Highlanders marking 100 years since their formation, making them Zimbabwe’s oldest football institution.

The milestone season places renewed focus on both performance on the pitch and institutional stability off it.

The developments are expected to feature prominently when the club convenes its Annual General Meeting this Sunday, where stakeholders will reflect on the centenary celebrations, governance matters and the road ahead.
