High-Level anti-drug abuse summit convenes at State House

Story by Abigirl Tembo

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is today expected to lead a High-Level Resource Mobilisation Meeting at State House as part of Zimbabwe’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the national response to drug and substance abuse.

The meeting has been convened by the National Drug and Substance Abuse Committee through its resource mobilisation pillar, which is chaired by the Minister of Local Government and Public Works.

The pillar is tasked with coordinating the mobilisation of financial resources, human capital, infrastructure, and services to support national interventions aimed at curbing the growing menace of drug and substance abuse.

This critical engagement will bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including government ministries, private sector partners, civil society organisations, faith-based groups, and development partners under a Whole of Government and Whole of Society approach.
