Gutu East youths empowered through village business units

GUTU-RESIDENTS of Gutu East have expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development projects spearheaded by the Second Republic, particularly in the agricultural sector, saying the visible transformation in their communities will inform their decision to vote for continued development in the forthcoming parliamentary by-election.

Of particular note is the establishment of the Mufudze Youth Business Unit in the Mazuru area.

This initiative, undertaken by the ZANU PF-led government under the stewardship of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, seeks to improve the livelihoods of rural youths through sustainable agriculture and enterprise development.

Speaking during a community mobilisation event on Friday, young people from the area expressed appreciation for the support being extended to rural communities.

“We are excited that today a village business unit is being established for youths in this area. It means we will be able to do various agriculture initiatives from horticulture and poultry to fisheries projects. This is empowerment, and it means many of us will no longer engage in drug and substance abuse or other vices, but rather focus on improving our livelihoods, a beneficiary said.

Another resident added that the recent initiative is part of a series of developmental projects rolled out in the constituency since 2018.

“This is not the first development project we are witnessing in this area. There are many since 2018, led by President Mnangagwa and his administration. We are grateful as the people of Mazuru and we continue to support development,” a resident said.

The ZANU PF Youth League, led by Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde John Paradza, visited the area to rally support for the party’s candidate in the Gutu East by-election, Cde Zvarevashe Masvingise.

“As youths, we are encouraged by the programmes that President Mnangagwa is implementing in communities to transform people’s lives. The project being established here is for the youths, and it is not the first of its kind. Many have already been established across the country, and some youths are already reaping the benefits. This development-oriented foundation is a clear testimony that ZANU PF will win resoundingly in the upcoming by-election,” he said.

Cde Masvingise expressed confidence in winning the seat, citing the ruling party’s strong support base in the area and its visible delivery of development.

“As the people of Gutu East, we appreciate what the ZANU PF party is doing for us, and this has made my campaign very easy as I continue to ride on the popularity of the party. Hence, I am convinced of a victory come 14 June,” Masvingise said.

The Gutu East Parliamentary by-election is scheduled for the 14th of June and will be contested by Cde Zvarevashe Masvingise (ZANU PF), Gift Gonese (Independent), and Zivanai Nzvenga (NCA).
