PUBLIC hearings for the State Service (Pensions) Bill commence this Monday at Lupane Centre in Matabeleland North province.
The hearings, designed to gather public input, will extend to other provinces and conclude on February 28.
The bill proposes a state-managed retirement fund for public service employees, encompassing pensions, gratuities, and related benefits upon retirement, resignation, or other qualifying circumstances.
The fund, covering all civil servants, including uniformed forces, will be financed through contributions from both government and employees.
