HEALTHCARE services for all citizens are being enhanced as the government is scaling up efforts to train more healthcare professionals, particularly Registered General Nurses in line with the National Development Strategy One (NDS1).
The initiative is part of the National Development Strategy One (NDS1), which prioritises enhancing healthcare services and accessibility for all citizens.
The government is encouraging prospective students to pursue nursing careers, not only to improve healthcare but also to create employment opportunities for the youth.
The Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care, Honorable Sleiman Kwidini, revealed plans to upgrade student nurse accommodations and establish new nurse training facilities nationwide.
“We are making steady progress and have identified strategic locations nationwide to establish new nurse training facilities. This initiative aligns with the Second Republic’s inclusive vision, ensuring that ‘no one and no place will be left behind,’ providing equitable access to quality healthcare and training opportunities for all,” he said.
The launch of the Health Resilience Fund and the National Health Strategy 2021-2025 are some of the initiatives by the government to improve healthcare in the country.
The National Health Strategy 2021-2025 outlines the government’s plans to strengthen the healthcare system, including improving access to essential medicines and commodities, increasing the number of healthcare professionals, and enhancing the quality of healthcare services.
