GOVERNMENT has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing people-centred developmental projects under the 100-Day Cycle Rapid Results Initiative.
Representatives from all government ministries convened in Mutare on Thursday to validate and assess proposed projects earmarked for implementation in 2026 under the initiative, which is designed to accelerate service delivery and improve accountability across the public sector.
The Permanent Secretary for National Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Ms Fananayi Madambi, said the programme has demonstrated that measurable development outcomes can be achieved within compressed timeframes when ministries operate with focus and discipline.
“Government is moving with urgency, precision, and discipline to deliver high-impact and citizen-centred programmes and projects as stipulated by Cabinet Circular No. 24 of 2018. His Excellency challenges government machinery to demonstrate within every 100 days that accelerated progress is possible and that Vision 2030 is not aspirational rhetoric but a liveable and visible reality for the citizenry.
“We expect under this rapid results initiative that Ministries are in the rapid results-oriented mode, such that at the beginning of each cycle, the cabinet approves, and mid-cycle, the respective ministers report on progress. The successes we have seen are the speed at which these projects are being implemented,” she said.
The Permanent Secretary for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mr Abiot Maronge, noted how the 100-day cycle initiative has transformed communities in the province through the implementation of projects such as the Mutare passport offices and the Hauna value addition plant.

“We have seen the 100-day initiative giving us massive developmental results in Manicaland Province across all sectors. There are lots of achievements that were recorded courtesy of this initiative. There are other projects that are of a business nature, which include the Mega market milling plant. We do not doubt that this is an initiative which has given our communities massive developmental dividends,” he said.
Meanwhile, the 100-day cycle initiative has seen the implementation of national infrastructure development projects that include the historic Trabablas traffic interchange in Harare and the construction of the Magistrates’ courts in all the provinces across the country.
