CHIREDZI – RELEGATION haunted Triangle United are ready for the TelOne test, with the two clubs set to clash at Gibbo Stadium this Sunday.
Popularly known as the Sugar Sugar Boys, Triangle United have enjoyed a resurgence in form, remaining unbeaten in their last five matches, which include two victories and three draws.
The team is confident of extending that positive run as they seek to move out of the relegation zone.
“We are happy with our performance because we listened to our coach’s instructions. I believe we can beat TelOne,” a player said.
“We are pleased with our performance lately. We have not lost in the past five games we have played, and we are trying by all means to move out of the relegation zone,” another player said.
But the challenge will not be easy.
TelOne, also known as the Wi-Fi Boys, are no pushovers.
Triangle’s coach, Genesis Mangombe, knows what is at stake.
“We are very happy with the way the guys are responding and with the way we are stopping some of the big teams here. We played well against MWOS, we played well versus Kwekwe United, and last Sunday we played against Scottland, and we managed to draw, meaning there are positives there. The guys are already in drive mode, and they are doing everything right at the right time. We just want to make sure that this game at home, we will manage to get maximum points,” Coach Genesis Mangombe said.
Victory on Sunday could be the lifeline Triangle United needs, not just for survival, but to re-ignite their campaign and reassert their home dominance.
