Preliminary Mozambique election results released Wednesday night, show that ruling FRELIMO party presidential candidate Daniel Chapo is leading in all of the country’s 11 provinces.
Official results for the October 9 plebiscite are expected on the 24th of this month.
Incumbent President Filipe Nyusi has called on Mozambicans to remain calm while awaiting official results.
The Mozambique electoral body is yet to make an official comment on the elections.
