HARARE-THE Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) is hosting a two-week Bible Seminar in Harare, which is expected to attract thousands from within and beyond Zimbabwe’s borders, with the church also offering free medical care via mobile clinics in various communities.

Speaking upon arrival from the United States this Monday morning, the guest speaker during the two-week Bible Seminar, Pastor Pavel Goia, said he has brought a message of hope during a time when society is faced with many challenges, including drug and substance abuse and high crime rate.

“The Bible says go ye therefore and preach, and that is what we are doing. We want to remind each other that there is still hope and we can live better lives. I am also excited because this is my first time in Zimbabwe, and I am looking forward to visiting the Victoria Falls and other tourist places. Zimbabwe is a peaceful and beautiful country, and I am happy to meet the people,” he said.

The two-week long seminar, organised by the church’s North Zimbabwe Conference, will not only have Bible teachings, but will also include free medical services.

“There are going to be a lot of teachings, and what better time to bring these teachings to the people. A lot is happening, and people need hope, and that is really the intention of this seminar, which will bring together a lot of people, including top government officials,” SDA North Zimbabwe Conference, ersonal Ministers Director, Personal Ministers Director, Pastor Marvin Muzanenhamo said.

“There are a lot of lessons for women as well, particularly marriage and divorce, because Zimbabwe is amongst the top countries that have recorded high numbers in divorce cases, so we really need such topics. Children will also have their own lessons, and of course, we will be offering free medical care to communities as we will have mobile clinics, and this is part of evangelism,” Public Affairs and Religious Liberty of the Seventh Day Adventist Church,Committee Member, Mrs Florence Ziyambi said.

The SDA church has been instrumental in implementing community development projects that include construction of clinics and schools, while also empowering youths in various sectors including agriculture.
