FORMER ZBC Senior Sub-Editor on the Radio English Desk, Dice Muvavarirwa, has died.
He was 84.
Muvavarirwa was affectionately known in the newsroom as “Uncle Dias.”
Speaking to ZBC News, his wife Jacqueline confirmed that Muvavarirwa died at Marondera General Hospital after a battle with prostate cancer.
Dice Muvavarirwa joined ZBC in 1986 as a sub-editor on the Radio English Desk and rose through the ranks to become Senior Sub-Editor.
He served the national broadcaster for two decades before retiring in 2006.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, nine children and eleven grandchildren.
Mourners are gathered at his family home at Number 16 Nhika Road, Yellow City suburb in Marondera.
Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
