Five candidates submit nominations for Glenview South by-election

FIVE candidates have filed their nomination papers as they seek to contest in the Glenview South constituency by-election slated for the April 12.

The Nomination Court sat this Thursday to receive papers from aspiring candidates for next month’s by-election in Harare’s Glenview South constituency.

Nomination Court Officer, Ms Fiona Kurima confirmed that the five candidates who filed their papers are from the ZANU PF party, NCA party, and three independent candidates.

“The following candidates have been duly nominated, Chakeredza Tonderai, an independent candidate,Tungamirai Madzokere, an independent candidate,
George Makwangwaidze, an independent candidate, Perpetua Mukanda of the NCA party and
Tsitsi Tawomhera of the ZANU PF party.

“After the nomination, a poll in the Glenview South National Assembly shall take place on Saturday, April 12, in accordance with the electoral Act.”

The Glenview South national assembly seat fell vacant following the death of Gladymore Hakata of the CCC party.
