A 41-year-old Harare man has been slapped with a 15 year-jail-term after being found guilty of repeatedly raping, and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter.
Between April and December 2024 in Waterfalls, Harare, the man lured his daughter to a nearby river, where he proposed a romantic relationship and sexually assaulted her despite her refusal.
He threatened to kill her if she disclosed the abuse to anyone.
The rape continued multiple times, including during the absence of the convict’s wife, who is the child’s stepmother.
The matter came to light when the victim revealed her pregnancy to her grandmother, initially claiming she had been impregnated by a boyfriend.
