“I should say, we have succeeded. For several years we have built a true joint partnership network. So far, TV BRICS has successfully launched the cooperation with different media in Africa, Latin America and Eurasian continent. Cooperating with TV BRICS partners we draw attention to the most important topics researched by the local journalist dedicated to economy, business, culture, tourism, heritage, healthcare, humanitarian and education areas – all of those that help us to get to know each other and understand each other better and to build the most productive and mutually beneficial cooperation for a better future”

For her part Anna Lisina, editor-in-chief of TV BRICS website, spoke about the process of monitoring partner feeds and the editorial policy of tvbrics.com.

“As our partner network, which already includes more than 50 national media in BRICS and BRICS+ countries, is constantly evolving, our editorial policy is also changing and expanding to some extent. So that, our mission is to focus on distributing a constructive peaceful agenda related to existing and potential cooperation between countries and we help to promote cultural ties between people and unite all races and nationalities”

The news selection process is based on certain criteria. These criteria may include news relevance, news significance, credibility and audience interest. An important aspect is the verification of information.

“We use fact checking, comparison with other reliable sources and consultation with experts. We have created a special expert base where more than 100 profiles. These specialists regularly comment on the certain issues that are on the agenda and give us their expert opinion,” added Anna Lisina.

Svetlana Kukava, chief editor of TV BRICS channel, spoke in detail about the video production process and the exclusive programmes of the Russian editorial team.

“Our editorial office is a kind of international hub for the information exchange. Producers find important, interesting stories and their participants: from deputies and lawyers to rare animals, select locations and coordinate the work of the film crew. Correspondents receive an editorial task to shoot a report on a pre-agreed topic. Then our film crew goes to the location. The finished text of the report approved by the editor is sent for film editing. After that, our broadcast reports are translated into Chinese, Portuguese and English. And the last stage of our work – we send our reports to our international media partners”

Delegates of the media tour shared their impressions of the session with the editors of the international network.

“TV BRICS continues to strengthen the integration between the media companies which are part of the international network. This is very important. What we have seen here today is a strengthening of integration, with broadcasters that already exist not only in the BRICS countries, but also in other countries. These are responsible companies that have come together to tell the best of each country. This benefits all those who receive this quality information,” said Marcio Campos Dias, editor-in-chief of the Brazilian channel Terra Viva.

Durgesh Singh Bhadauria, senior producer of Asian News International (ANI), said TV BRICS has a strong focus on positive stories in its news agenda.
