Dedicated cadres, gallant sons of the soil, gentle giants buried

THE burial of Cde Chenhamo Chimutengwende, Major General Retired Solomon Siziba and Ambassador John Shumba Mvundura attracted thousands of mourners from across the country who gathered at the national shrine to pay their last respects to the dedicated cadres of the liberation struggle.

The Siziba family representative Brigadier Mpulaeng Siziba described his late brother as a unifier, a successful farmer and a liberation stalwart.

Mr Clopas Nyangoni said the late Cde Chimutengwende was a good father and, a pillar of support to the family.

He added that he has been buried at the National Heroes Acre speaks volumes about his works for the nation.

Meanwhile, daughter to national hero Ambassador John Mvundura, Jane said her father was a champion of academic excellence, diplomat par-excellence and a gentle giant.

Colleagues described the three national heroes as exceptional cadres who dedicated their lifetime to the development of the country, imploring young people to emulate their works for posterity.

Their national hero status was captured by banners which read “Ambassador Dr John Mvundura: Our Esteemed diplomat, Cde Chenhamo Chimutengwende: our dedicated cadre and Major General Retired Solomon Siziba: A distinguished liberation struggle stalwart.
