PRESIDENT Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected in Bulawayo this Thursday for the official launch of the country’s Culture Month celebrations at Barbourfields Stadium.
The commemorations are set to celebrate Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage, with traditional dance groups, musicians and cultural ensembles from across the country expected to showcase their talent during the event.
Thousands of people drawn from all the country’s 10 provinces are expected to attend the celebrations, which are aimed at promoting national identity, unity and the preservation of indigenous culture.
President Mnangagwa has repeatedly underscored the importance of culture and the creative economy in national development, with Government intensifying efforts to support the arts, heritage preservation and cultural industries.
Zimbabwe has also continued to strengthen its position as a cultural tourism destination, with local artists and traditional groups increasingly representing the country at regional and international platforms.
The launch is expected to provide a platform for celebrating the country’s diverse cultural traditions while promoting the growth of the creative and cultural sectors as part of the broader national development agenda.
