THE Lupane Provincial Hospital, which is under construction, is expected to be a major health provision centre in the province.
Poised to be the biggest hospital in the province, the 250-bed facility has been described as a milestone investment for the health care sector.
The hospital will ensure that people no longer travel all the way from as far as Jambezi, Binga, Kazungula and many other places in the province to access specialised health care services in Bulawayo.
A resident said, ‘‘We still cannot believe such a hospital is being built for us here.’’
Another noted, ‘‘We want to thank the president and his Government for building this hospital, we know what it means.’’
“Our days of going to Mpilo and UBH in Bulawayo will soon be over, we are happy,” commented yet another resident.
Matebeleland North Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution; Honourable Richard Moyo says President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s development agenda of leaving no one and no place behind is becoming a reality as the fast-paced construction of the modern healthcare centre continues.
‘‘This is simply a game changer in healthcare provision. For this province, there is a great appreciation of government endeavours.’’
On a firm conviction to take services to the people, the Second Republic has been constructing critical infrastructure across the country under the National Development Strategy One.
