POLITICAL analysts say the Citizens Coalition for Change(CCC) has no one to blame for the recent turmoil that has rocked the party after some legislators were recalled from parliament.
The general agreement is that the opposition outfit’s lack of defined structures is the elephant in the room.
The political outfit has found itself in a difficult spot as the doctrine of strategic ambiguity is backfiring after 15 legislators were recalled from parliament.
One Sengezo Tshabangu who claims to be the CCC interim Secretary-General has written to the Speaker of the National Assembly Advocate Jacob Mudenda recalling 15 legislators in a move that has been described by political analysts as a decisive setback for the opposition party.
For Political Analyst Mr Takudzwa Gambiza, the drama unfolding in the CCC is a reflection of the poor leadership that has become synonymous with the opposition political party.
“Recent developments reflect bad leadership and failure to come up with structures that run the political party. It is Nelson Chamisa’s arrogance which has seen the party crumbling barely two months after elections,” he said.
Another Political Commentator Mr Gibson Nyikadzino says the lack of a well-defined constitution and party structures has come back to haunt the CCC.
“The failure to have a constitution ratified at the congress which enables elements of processes, accountability, and stability. The one who is to blame in this is none other than the leader of the opposition Mr Nelson Chamisa because political participation in Zimbabwe was supposed to be premised on ensuring that as an organisation the CCC has all things formally done to enhance administration,” he said.
Some of the constituencies whose legislators have been recalled include Binga North, Cowdary Park, and Mabvuku.
Observers say CCC’s confusion is set to cost the nation as by-elections have to be conducted in the affected constituencies.
