THE City of Victoria Falls has reinstated Town Clerk, Mr Ronnie Dube, following a government directive
This comes after councilors annulled Mr. Dube’s suspension effected on the 3rd of this month which was deemed illegal.
Local Government and Public Works Minister, Honorable Daniel Garwe, expressed concern that the Victoria Falls City council’s earlier resolution to suspend the Town Clerk contravened Section 139 of the Urban Councils Act.
This stemmed from the establishment of two bodies of inquiry, which could potentially cause significant financial harm to the city council, among other irregularities.
The Minister’s decision is also in line with Section 314 of the Urban Councils Act.
