THE last-minute Christmas Eve shopping rush has given retailers a boost, thanks to fully stocked shelves and stable prices.

This surge in sales reflects growing consumer confidence, with stable pricing making it easier for shoppers to plan, budget, and make informed spending decisions.

While this is bringing festive cheer ahead of Christmas Day, we spoke to consumers about spending during this year’s festive season.

“As you can see indeed, the prices are stable, enabling us to buy more and plan accordingly,” a consumer said.

“It is going to be a Christmas with a difference as we continue to buy, while the availability of goods is acting to our advantage,” a shopper said.

“What more can I want if I can buy all that I want with prices being stable indeed? This is going to be an exciting Christmas holiday,” a customer said.

Even the retail sector is reaping the fruits of stable economic conditions.

“This is quite impressive and many thanks to the Government and the central bank for coming up with policies that have ignited that sense of hope; it is going to help ignite more confidence,” Retail Sector Executive Mr Moses Chihuri said.

As Zimbabweans prepare for the 2025 festive season, the country celebrates a year of macro-economic stability and progress.
