It was another disappointing outing for the Chevrons after Zimbabwe conceded the T20 series to Pakistan following a 10-wicket defeat in the second match at Queens Sports club in Bulawayo this Tuesday.
After losing the first match of the T20 series, all eyes were on the Chevrons to bounce back and force a draw ahead of Thursday’s third and last match of the series.
The Chevrons, however, continued to struggle with the bat and it was only the partnership of Brian Benett and Tadiwanashe Marumani which produced a combined 37.
The Chevrons won the toss and elected to bat, but they were bowled out for a paltry 57 to give Pakistan an easy task which they completed with 61 for no loss to claim a 10-wicket victory.
Chevrons Captain Sikanda Raza implored cricket fans to be patient with the boys in their transitional process.
“The general feeling is that we didn’t do well. It is painful. It is up to management to find a lasting solution. We have been on the receiving end. We are hurt that our supporters are hurt by our performance. We keep saying we are in transition and we keep repeating the same mistakes. Nothing to take from Pakistan because they are in the best. All we are asking our fans is to keep supporting us as we seek to turn the tables,” he said.
The two sides face off in the last match of series on Thursday which is now academic after Pakistan wrapped up the series.
