ZIMBABWE Cricket is bubbling with renewed vigour after beating Bangladesh in the first Test that ended in Sylhet this Wednesday.

The Chevrons secured a three wickets victory over Bangladesh in the first Test, romping to a first win in four years.

The win was also the first time that the Chevrons had managed to beat Bangladesh on home ground for the first time in eight years.

Over the years, the Chevrons had come close to winning test matches, but they could not go over the line and ended up losing matches that seemed to be in the bag.

The win has, however, renewed the team’s optimism ahead of the second test in Chittagong.

“We are really happy with the victory, I think we did a lot of things right in that test match and showed us that if we minimise mistakes and stuck to our game plan we can reap the rewards. The strike bowlers were a constant threat and our spinners were on the money, so this victory has brought back the confidence in the team and we are hoping to take the good things into the next test,” Chevrons Captain, Craig Ervine said.

The second test will be played in Chittagong next week.
