THE construction of the Chahwanda Stadium (Heart Main Arena) in Kwekwe is on track, with corner stands being worked on to meet the 20 thousand-seater capacity mark.

The project, which was initially slated for completion in August will now be completed in November, with the launch expected to revolutionise sports development in the country.

Chahwanda Stadium partner, Walter Magaya, says the construction team is working diligently to finalise the remaining stands, install bucket seats, and complete the roofing.

“In terms of progress, we have moved so much. We are lifting the corners that we left. We believe that within the space of 30 days, the corners will be up and then we will make it a complete overhaul. We believe that we will be able to cut the ribbon. Our prayer is that the leader of the nation comes and does that for us.”

The stadium will consist of an array of modern amenities, including a B-stadium arena, clubhouse, changing rooms, and over 24 ablution facilities equipped with eight-seater toilets.

A luxurious presidential suite will also be part of the facility.
