POPULAR comedian and actor, Charles Mapalume, known as ‘Marabha’ in the entertainment circle, has died.
The talented comedian known for captivating audiences through street theatre died at a local hospital this Saturday morning.
Fellow artist Tafadzwa Ben known as Shugeta confirmed his death adding the country has lost a gifted artist who is among the pioneers of street theatre in Zimbabwe.
“He had been ill for a few years now. It got better for a while until two weeks ago when he was admitted in hospital. We then lost him this morning. Marabha was a very talented comedian and among the pioneers of Zimbabwean street theatre,” Ben said.
Social media is awash with tribute messages from fans and colleagues.
Marabha is among the trailblazers of Zimbabwean comedy who rose to fame together with peers Freddy Manjalima known as Kapfupi and the late Blessing Vingirai known as Bonjisi.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
