THE Basketball Union of Zimbabwe (BUZ) has officially opened nominations for individuals vying for six executive positions ahead of its upcoming elections scheduled for November.
Outgoing BUZ president Joe Mujuru confirmed that the nomination window will close on October 16, paving the way for the elective congress to be held in Gweru a month later.
“We are in the process of receiving nominations from aspiring leaders. We will close the nomination on October 16 so that we know who is vying for which position. We have concluded our provincial elections, save for Mashonaland West. We now have refreshed leadership in all the provinces, and we are in the process of addressing the mash west issue. Six positions are up for grabs in elections set for November 16,” he said.
The elections are expected to usher in a new leadership team to steer the union forward.
